In 2015, while traveling in Berlin, I saw bees gathering to drink syrup from a table at a roadside cafe. Seeing this, I felt a sense of love for bees, which I had previously found frightening. When I returned to my lodgings, I found several dead bees, which I put in a case and brought back to Japan.
After returning to Japan, I was reading Philippe Ball's book "Forms: Beautiful Patterns Created by Nature" and by chance learned about the geometric regularity engraved in the DNA of bees. I created this work filled with beauty, respect and admiration for the mysterious ecology of bees.
